My eye hurts sometimes. It has since I was a kid. I got it
looked at by several different Optometrists. They told me some bullshit about
not blinking enough and gave me eye drops. It’s bullshit because only one eye
hurts. I blink with both eyes like normal people do. I think it has something
to do with pressure, because it starts hurting before storms.
This is relevant, by the way.
I finally got out of the City when my eye started hurting
like the Dickens. It hadn’t been bothering me for a while (I admit I was too preoccupied
by my Fear hauntings and Tallie’s death to really care). Then, out of nowhere,
in the middle of the City while I’m about to bash my face into the nearest wall
if it would just stay still long enough, I’m nearly incapacitated with pain.
It’s this throbbing sensation centered on that optical nerve
that slowly spreads outward. Like someone is repeatedly stabbing me right
behind my eye with a needle full of acid.
Normally it’s just a dull throbbing that I can get used to,
but this was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before. One moment I was
about to beat my head in with a rock, the next I was on the ground screaming.
It felt like my brain was melting, starting from behind my right eye.
A Door opened up. I didn’t notice it at first, because my
vision was whited out by pain. As soon as the pain subsided enough for me to
think straight and see an opening, I pulled myself through that Door, and I was
back in my room. The clock said only a couple of minutes had passed. The pain
still hasn’t gone away completely, and my vision in that eye is all screwed up
now. Everything is blurry and double and slightly tinged red.
I’ll probably make an appointment with the optometrist about
it. I shouldn’t bother
There hasn’t been any obvious Fear activity since I got
back. My room is even back to its normal temperature.
And that’s my story.
Now I’m going to lurk
on 4chan until I repress these memories to a dark, dark corner of my mind.
